IT Sourcing / Procurement Manager, LONDON – £55k-60k
On behalf of my client, a very stable and highly successful online media business, I am looking for an IT Sourcing and Procurement Manager. For the right person, this is a great opportunity to create a complete procurement strategy, apply best practices and directly impact the business through their buying process.
As the IT Sourcing / Procurement manager, it will be your reasonability to deliver a robust and professional procurement function across the business to purchase IT Services and goods through a consistent and cost effective approach.
Responsibilities will include;
o Complete review and rationalisation of their current IT Procurement to include; IT service suppliers, contractual and commercial agreements.
o Provide recommendations of best practice IT purchasing, procurement strategy

o Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
o Highly organised with a logical and systematic working approach
o Understanding of legal, contractual and commercial clauses in contracts

Highly desirable;

Specific Responsibilities
Review new and existing IT projects/ideas, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural roadmaps.
Collaborate with end users and senior management to define business requirements for complex application development and gain buy-in for all development plans.
Consults with senior IT management on the design of moderately complex systems and projects. May consult with leadership on emerging technologies. Supports existing business systems applications from an enterprise architecture perspective working with the solutions architects for each application.
Strong understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies knowledge to support the needs of critical systems and projects.

Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of application development effort and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness time to market
Candidate requirements
Knowledge of Java, .NET and Cobol languages, working knowledge of web services and middleware technologies, Linux/Windows, Virtualization/VMWare, performance management, application lifecycles, BPM, datawarehousing, data architecture and BI tools.
Strong knowledge of IT systems, practices and functional units.
Extensive IT related experience. Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree is a plus.
Financial sector experience a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to function as the business to IT liaison
Must be a self starter with ability to work remotely.
Escalates serious issues/challenges to more senior management.

In support of the Head of Programme Management, you will be heavily involved in creating the early stage commercial and technical proposals, bid management, risk analysis, project delivery, resource definition, scoping and pricing of client side propositions. An essential part of the role will be the management of the client relationships where you will be the focal point for all client communications, and hopefully follow-up sales.
You will also manage a number of con-current software engineering projects undertaken for a variety of blue chip clients, typically across the convergence of multi-media and mobile applications. This will be through the management of software development teams distributed across different time-zones.
Your involvement with the projects will begin early in the life-cycle throughout to its successful delivery to the client.
In terms of client relationships, this will require you to both think about the project at a high level while at the same time understanding the project at a detailed level. You will work closely with the project’s Technical Manager to oversee the project on a day to day basis. With the support of the Technical Manager, you will apply the programme management methods, processes and tools needed to ensure that projects are correctly defined, planned, costed, resourced, and tracked. You will also be a mentor to the team, providing a sounding board and advice to help progress the project as needed.
