On behalf of my client, a leading multi-channel online retail organisation, I am recruiting a Software Development Manager to lead a growing Microsoft/.NET Software Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to progress within a very stable, ambitious and market-leading medium sized organisation.

Reporting to the CTO, you will manage, motivate and lead the (currently 9 strong) growing development team; assign tasks, ensure projects are effectively resourced, recruit and continue to review and deliver best practice for software coding, change, release and technology approach.

Key Responsibilities:
o Lead and manage the day to day activities of the software development team
o Oversee the systems & product architecture, development and technology platforms/solutions as delivered by the development team
o Take responsibility for the personal career advancement and technology skills training of the team members
o Resource planning, recruitment and dealing with escalated technical issues
o Translating functional/technical business requirements into application code
Represent software development in management meetings and when required, stakeholder workshops
o Produce and maintain accurate project plans and provide regular updates on progress to management
Continue to review, evolve and deliver best software development standards, technology, tools and principles
o Maintain and manage relationships with vendor supplied services and applications

Key Skills:
o 3 – 5yrs + in a Software Development Manager role
o Leadership of complex bespoke MS/.NET software development of enterprise platforms and applications
o Previously lead software development teams in Agile/Scrum software development approach
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL Server, Sharepoint
o Front-end technology – AJAX, JQuery etc.
o Web services, REST, MVC 4, Web API
o Unified Modelling Language (UML) toolset

o Beneficial;
o Heavy, big data driven applications – Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Microsoft CRM, ERP.

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
o Solid time management, organisational and analytical skills.

o Provide support to other team members and value others and their opinions.
o Work as part of a team or under your own initiative, self-motivated and enthusiastic
